FASHIONABLE WITH RECYCLED CLOTHES

Fashion is funny thing. A form of ugliness  so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months , Oscar Wilde once said.

Look, everyone, at least once in a life time have ever standing in front of an overflowing closet in an utter state of panic, wailing (ussual) desperate words  "I've got nothing to wear! "

O, what? You did it every day? *bumb head to the doorlobe*  well, you aren't alone, Hunny. A millions woman out there do the same . And do you believe I have nothing to wear?  Of course I have something to wear
! ! MORE THAN SOMETHING.

Logically,  this seems like the most preposterous problem anyone could encounter , yet it's so common.  I suppose this is exactly the mindset that consumerism thrives on :the dissatisfaction with one's current state and hence the desire for newer,  better products.

Last year,  a five meters mountain of used clothes at the Central Star Ferry Pier in the Get redressed exhibit ilustrated just how damaging this desire is to the environment.  That 7, 5 tonnes of used clothes  represented only 3 percent of the amounts of Hongkong people throw out every day,  according to the  Environment Protection Departments

While clothing sales in here have soared by 60 percent of the past decade, we seem to have forgotten about the faith of the clothes we'd thrown away. Instead of flinging them away,  we could deposit them in one of the 190 collection bank  for recycling, rite? Or giving it away to the needy, for charity.  A similar scheme recently started in New York recycle textiles in to wiping cloths and carpet padding, which seems like an effective working model too

THE term ECO FASHION is often misunderstood.  It's refers to sustainable solutions that Will reduce clothing waste and it's impact on the environment.

Eco fashion doesn't , however,  mean a gown made out of  newspapers with a headband made from paper clips and origami red packets. Such one-off "trashion show" pieces,  unfortunately do little to changes th world better.
